Lake Restoration Summary Plan
The Park Lake Comprehensive Management Plan as submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources consists of three major elements; a Water Quality Monitoring Plan, a Watershed Management Plan, and an In-Lake Restoration Plan. Implementation of all three elements of the Plan are essential in restoring Park Lake to a healthy and viable ecosystem.

A key element of the In-Lake Restoration Plan is a drawdown of Park Lake for a period of time which could be as long as 14 months. This element of the plan is the most visible and has drawn the most public attention.
In an effort to better understand the elements of the In-Lake plan, I have attempted to condense and summarize that portion the plan as submitted to the DNR. I began this project for my own benefit, and I present it here for those individuals who have not had the opportunity to read the entire Management Plan and have expressed an interest in better understanding the In-Lake elements of the Plan.
My approach was essentially to “cut and paste” from the original document and it is my hope that I have not distorted the findings and efforts of everyone involved in this project.
I would encourage anyone who reads this to use it as a stepping stone to read the entire plan, which presents a detailed history of the Park Lake, The upper Fox River watershed and all of the efforts that have gone in to maintaining the lake as a valuable asset to the Village of Pardeeville and the surrounding area.
My “summary” of the plan begins on the next page.
